Bio: Through the faithful witness of a co-worker and friend, Christ called me into his kingdom and church in 1972. In 1976, I married a pastor’s daughter, Trudy, and together we have had the joy of serving in three churches: four years in San Diego, California; eight years in Eugene, Oregon; and for the past twenty years here at RMCC in Billings, Montana. During that time we have been blessed with three daughters (Sarah, Sonja, and Anya) all now grown and married and with children of their own.
One of the great benefits since my coming to RMCC in 1992 has been the godly men the Lord has given this church. My own work as a pastor has been greatly influenced by biblical peacemaking through the friendship and encouragement of Ken Sande of Peacemaker Ministries and the practice of it by the elders of RMCC.
Through our collaboration we, sinners, seek to build a culture of peace at RMCC that is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ—the Prince of Peace. In 2006, I was able to turn my doctoral studies to practical use by authoring a book for pastors, The Peacemaking Pastor.
Two passions rule me. First, is the faithful preaching of and teaching of God’s inerrant word, in particular, to preach Christ in all of Scripture. Second, is to see God raise up godly men to plant Christ-centered, gospel-driven churches in Montana. The faithful members of RMCC have encouraged me in both ways and we are a blessed congregation for it.
