Deacons

The apostle Paul called the church the "Body of Christ." That means we are unashamedly dependent upon one another. Each of us has areas of giftedness in his or her life, and Jesus calls us to use our gifts to build each other up.

Each of us also has areas where sin has taken an especially great toll. While Christ keeps his promises to us in ways more wonderful than we can imagine, we are not free from seasons of sorrow or from times when we simply need extra help.

God has gifted our church with wise Deacons who have a wealth of experience that make the ministry of the Word possible and practical. They manage and develop the church's facilities, ensure integrity and accountability in church finances, and administer aid to widows and others in distress.

Stewardship

The Deacons provide both financial counsel and relief to those within and outside the church. The Deacons are eager to work with any individual or family that is in need of financial counseling to bring them order and hope. The Deacons provide counsel from God's Word and seek to show forth the riches of the gospel as they work with individuals and families.

The Deacons encourage those within the church to seek for, find, and embrace the joy that can be theirs by understanding that God owns everything and has appointed us his agents to manage those resources.

The Deacons oversee the facility and provide a well-maintained church. The church building and contents are acquired and maintained for the purposes of God-centered worship, Christian education, discipleship, counseling, outreach, other approved ministries, church administration, and approved member activities and events.
